Borsao 2008 Vina Borgia Campo de Borja
I’ve been harping on this for the past two vintages: priced at $6.99 per bottle this is a steal and anybody that buys it should be thrown in jail for “stealing” money from Bodegas Borsao. They should be charging more for this, like maybe $8 or $9. Jokes aside, if you want to try a Garnacha based wine this is the starting point. It’s perfect for a glass when you get home from work, BBQ, an evening with friends, or even cooking with. Oh yes, It’s also the wine I recommend for those that make their own Sangria. |

Segal's 2004 Galilee Heights Special Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
This complex cabernet features full bodied, rich blackberry and dark cherry flavors, subtle hints of anise and a long finish supported by smooth tannins. Savory herbs and black cherry fruit speak more of the classic wines of Bordeaux than of California, yet the rich fruit makes clear that this comes from a warmer climate. Bordeaux comes to Israel? A perfect wine for braised meats or fowl. |

Sobieski Vodka
When I first tasted this Vodka, it was in a blind tasting. I chose Sobieski as the vodka I preferred over Grey Goose. Not only is it smoother and more pleasant to drink then Grey Goose, it's also about half the price. |

L'Ecole No. 41 2006 Columbia Valley Merlot
This well-known winery takes its name from a turn-of-the-century French schoolhouse that serves as it's winery. Since 1983 this has been one of the most successful and highly respected wine producers in Washington, and one taste of their 2006 Merlot will show you why. This is a classically structured wine with deep, pure fruit flavors of cassis and blackberries with just a hint of smokiness. Quite smooth and drinkable as you'd expect from a fine Merlot, it's also surprisingly complex and deep for a wine at this price. Consistently one of the best buys in Washington Merlot. |

Patton Valley 2008 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Rosé
The 2007 of this wine was quite simply one of the best domestic rose's of the season, and this 2008 continues the trend. Amazingly refreshing, this is crisp with a delightful tartness supported by clean, crisp fruit and almost a hint of a sparkle. This is almost TOO easy to drink, either by itself or with a wide variety of foods. Fantastic! |
